LIVEFREE has introduced HB 774, a bill that would protect seriously ill patients from the threat of arrest and prison if they use marijuana with their doctors’ recommendation. Eleven other states – including Maine, Vermont, and Rhode Island -- have already passed laws protecting medical marijuana patients from arrest and jail. These laws are working well, and seriously ill patients in those states no longer have to live in fear of being arrested by state and local police for using medical marijuana to treat their illness. It is time for New Hampshire to join them.
The public hearing for HB 774 will be held at 11am on Monday, March 12, in the Legislative Office Building, room 205 (directly behind the State House). All members of the public are welcomed to provide either public or written testimony. If you plan on providing testimony you can contact LIVEFREE and we would be happy to guide you through the hearing process or submit your written testimony to the Chair of the committee.
